Open Table Meeting !

I thought to myself. What kind of picture could I use to represent Ecclesia? Then I stumbled upon the blog of the "painter in residence" (He paints a picture every service). His pictures describe the church perfectly.

So I met with the people who make up the "Open Table Meeting" at Ecclesia. Let me start by saying...God is AWESOME, and the world is so very very small. So, the freeway = my worst nightmare. It legitimately fills me with anxiety EVERY TIME I encounter it. I think it's because I'm convinced, if I take a wrong exit...I'll  never find my way home.

I made it there alive. Every reason in it's self to PRAISE JESUS. 

Meeting everyone was amazing. Meeting the Mother and Daughter, Joanne and Nefra, who I will be serving May 13th was even better. Watching how the meeting worked was the most amazing thing. The big news was Joanne got a job! Everyone was so excited! They began talking to her asking her what kind of hours she would be working. Manuel asked how much she would be getting paid....

I was almost angry. How could anyone be expected to live off of that? But she was happy. Happy to have a job. It's almost enough to make you cry. The other fascinating thing was that this woman, living in a homeless shelter, trying to provide for a child in middle school, was talking about wanting to serve others. The group tried to remind her that we wanted to get her stable first before she started trying to reach out to other people. Her and her daughter were the TOP priority. 

Then we closed out in prayer. Joanne prayed over us. She started praying for a man and his wife, who apparently were originally apart of the group but dropped out because of family problems, and their children. It gave me the chills listen to what was inside her heart as she prayed. I AM so terribly excited to work with them and bless them any way I can. 

Now for the "ITS SUCH A SMALL WORLD PART". One girl in the group Megan Barnhart :

1. Went to JV

2. Scott Shelton was her D-Now leader

3. Chrissy Sholeman is her roommate

4. Ms.Taylor my algebra teacher and her are FRIENDS

5. SHE DATED MS.MATTINGLY'S SON!

...such a small world.
